Katy's a month old!

K: Yes, it's really true - I'm a whole month old today! I can hardly believe it. Mummy and Daddy helped me make some footprints to celebrate (just like they did for Frances when she was one month old, apparantly). My feet are longer and thinner, we think.
Now that I'm a month old, I am spending more time awake. Granny Jenny and Colin came to see me at the weekend, and I was really quite conversational for quite a bit of the morning.
In the afternoon I did some high-quality sleeping on Granny Jenny. I am getting better at sleeping (though Mummy doesn't really want to write this in case it tempts fate). I have had a few lunchtime naps in my cot - sometimes even at the same time as my Big Sister - and at night I generally sleep in three- to four-hour stretches now. Mummy stopped eating chocolate for a bit in case it was interfering with my sleep and/or digestion - today she tried some again (I think she was hoping it was all just a coincidence) and I promptly had a very unsettled time about 3 hours later, so she is back on her no-choc diet again. Important to keep the parents in their place, I reckon. When I am fussy I like sucking things A Lot - fingers are good. It makes me look quite comical:

My favourite thing is still bathtime, which always makes me calm and interested. I am also getting quite keen on my playmat, and quite often bash the toys on it almost as if I meant to, and then watch them swing to and fro. My Big Sister also remains very interesting and often gives me very nice cuddles. She also helps change my nappy - she can take a nappy off me very well and can do the baby-wiping part - it is only really putting on a new nappy that is still a bit of a challenge, so the attendant parent tends to take over at that point.

F: I like changing Baby Katy's nappy. She often does big poos, which I am very fascinated by. Last week she did an enormous sick which was also very interesting. I now point out every time she has been a bit sick and quite often pass Mummy a muslin. Sometimes I get a bit impatient with the amount of time Baby Katy takes up (and how much Mummy cuddles her and holds on to her) but so far there has been nothing worse than a small experimental push and one attempt to bonk her on the head with a bendy eraser. Mostly I do things like using my stethoscope to check that she is doing well, and giving her a lot of big-sisterly cuddles.

It was lovely seeing Granny Jenny and Colin at the weekend - I was very pleased and played with both of them a lot. I showed Granny how good my marble run is, and we also played with the dressing-up teddies, and went to the park. We also saw Christina on Sunday, and went to the park again. I slid down the big slide on Mummy's coat, which made it very fast. I said 'I want to do that again another day'. Today Mummy and Daddy and Katy took me to a new place - it is a gymnastics centre where they have a toddler session which has really good soft play, but you can also use the proper gym equipment. I balanced on a beam and swung on a bar and jumped on the trampoline and jumped into a big pit full of foam. There were big boys and girls doing proper gym and I watched them too. It was very good and I want to do it again. In the afternoon we made Baby Katy footprints and I made a handprint and a footprint too.
